jelly jar dressing: dijon mustard vinaigrette

Jelly Jar Dijon Vinaigrette

DIY Dijon Vinaigrette in a jelly jar—pour, shake, and go!

Sometimes you just need a dressing that doesn’t ask for a blender, whisk, or three extra dishes. That’s why I love jelly jar dressings—they’re made to pour, shake, and go. Toss everything in the jar, screw the lid tight, and in about ten seconds you’ve got homemade dressing without the mess.

All you need is a 4oz jelly jar and some eyeballs. Seriously. You can eyeball the olive oil, vinegar, and mustard, screw on the lid, and shake. Buy a bunch of these little jars and meal prep them for the week—perfect for whipping up healthy salads and keeping dressings portion-controlled.

Drizzle it over salads, roasted veggies, or leftover chicken for an instant flavor boost.

Ingredients

Instructions

  • Fill 4 oz jelly jar about halfway with olive oil (about 3 tablespoons-ish worth).
  • Add a splash of apple cider vinegar.
  • Add a dollop of Dijon mustard.
  • Add a pinch of salt & pepper.
  • Optional: add a tiny drizzle of honey if you like it sweet and to cut the vinegar.
  • Seal the jar and shake well until blended. Taste and adjust—more honey for sweetness, more vinegar for tang.

Notes

To keep this dressing on the lighter side, use 2 tbsp olive oil instead of 3.  This will create a tangier dressing, but it will be lower in fat.
Dressing can be stored in the fridge for up to one week.  Shake well before using again.
